CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – North American Credit Services (NACS) and Medical Services employee crew team along with thirty-five community teams recently participated in a 10th Annual Dragon Boat competitive charity challenge, with an aspired goal to reach $150,000 in support of the local Children’s Hospital. “Our 2016 employee crew team gave it their all this year and represented us well.” shared Dallas S. Bunton, Sr., CEO and Chairman of NACS and Medical Services, Inc. “It’s a great team building experience, where everyone enjoys a bit of healthy competition and for such an important cause.”
Each team had one on-water practice prior to the event and competed in at least two heats on the day of the race, for the aspired title of Grand Champion. Crew teams race in authentic 46-foot Hong Kong style boats for a unique cultural event featuring adrenaline-pumping action. Dating back more than 2,300 years, Dragon Boat racing features teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer.
Paddlers of all ages, skill and fitness levels can participate, all pulling together to make it the ultimate team and community building sport.” explained Joel Henderson, NACS Public Affairs VP and company crew team captain for an 8th consecutive year. “Top prizes are awarded to the fastest teams and the teams who raise the most money, but the real winners are the children and families making a positive difference in their lives.”
