Due to the continuation of an ongoing procurement by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) for Private Collection Agencies (PCAs), Fed Cetera is pleased to announce it is holding a free teleseminar, Federal Subcontracting Opportunity Update, scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2014, at 12 noon EST.  The content of the teleseminar is tailored to collection agencies that want to work as subcontractors on the U.S. Department of Education Private Collection Agency (PCA) contract.

Subcontractors working on the PCA contract as a result of their relationship with Fed Cetera have historically earned $100,000 to $750,000 per month per subcontract in fees and just under $50 million to date for their efforts on this long-term initiative.

Teleseminar attendees will learn:

  • Why PCAs subcontract collection work
  • Why there is more pressure than ever for PCAs to subcontract this work
  • How many opportunities there are to do this work
  • Minimum qualifications needed for this work
  • What is and what is not a legitimate small business
  • Timelines associated with success in doing this work
  • Updates on the current procurement
  • Answers to any questions they may have about the program

Fed Cetera is sponsoring the teleseminar to promote the growth of its Federal Subcontractor Network, a program in which it matches small and large businesses with small and large prime contractors on Federal contracts like the ED PCA task order.  All firms on the ED PCA task order have an incentive to hire small businesses as subcontractors to improve their scorecard performance and maximize market share.

As reported on ED procurement documents posted on www.mygovwatch.com, the procurement for large businesses that began in 2013 places greater emphasis than ever before on the need for PCAs to subcontract accounts to small businesses.  A set aside contract awarded to eleven small businesses in late September of last year incentivizes, for the first time, those firms farming out some of the work to other small businesses.
