Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney Jon J. Lieberman of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (WWR) was recently appointed Associate Editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Journal. The flagship publication of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the ABI Journal is published 10 times a year and covers a wide range of insolvency issues and feature articles written by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field. As part of his new role, Jon will help to ensure published articles meet the very highest of criteria. A member of the organization since 2001, Jon is also completing his second term as Co-Chair of the ABI Legislation Committee.

A frequent lecturer on bankruptcy-related issues, Jon offers more than 20 years of bankruptcy experience. He earned his B.A. Semple Classics Scholar Summa Cum Laude Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati (Distinguished Military Graduate Air Force ROTC, 1985) and his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law (1990).

Jon is licensed in Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio, and is admitted to practice before the Bankruptcy Courts of the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, District of Columbia, Colorado and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. In addition, he is admitted to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Founded in 1982, the American Bankruptcy Institute is the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals, with more than 12,000 members. ABI plays a leading role in providing congressional leaders and the general public with non-partisan reporting and analysis of bankruptcy regulations, laws and trends.
