The iA Institute (publisher of insideARM.com) today announced the launch of the Compliance Professionals Forum (CPF), a membership organization for those tasked to ensure compliance with regulations governing interactions with consumers who owe a debt. The CPF website address is www.compliancePF.com.
CPF offers professional peer groups, peer-reviewed articles and whitepapers, in-depth guides, checklists, model documents, webinars, and in-person best practice events designed to educate and support those who are new to the compliance field, as well as those who are seasoned professionals.
“At the core of the CPF concept is our signature Peer Groups, which pair members with 10-15 other compliance professionals for monthly conversation about what’s keeping them up at night,” explained Stephanie Eidelman, CEO of the iA Institute. “These have been extremely well received, with members telling us how productive and useful their time spent on these calls has been. We look forward to rolling out more groups in the coming months.”
“The Peer Group has been an invaluable resource for me to trade information with other compliance officers,” Judd Peak, an inaugural member of a CPF Peer Group and a corporate compliance officer at Frost-Arnett, said. “I especially benefit from using my group as a sounding board for changes in policy and initiatives. I recommend it to anyone charged with compliance oversight at their organization.”
The Compliance Professionals Forum is made possible in part due to the generous support of a small group of Founding Supporters including TransUnion, Ontario Systems, Cornerstone Support, and the Consumer Relations Consortium. In addition to financial assistance, Founding Supporters have lent their expertise and insight as a result of their compliance work across many firms, both creditors and collectors.
“As a global information provider of both consumer credit and alternative data, we share the same challenges as our customers. As such, our professional compliance team shares its consumer protection expertise with the Compliance Professionals Forum. And as a Founding Supporter, our goal is to help the industry develop healthier bottom lines through regulatory compliance,” said Peter Ghiselli, Vice President U.S. Emerging Markets for TransUnion.
Mike Bevel, Director of Education for The iA Institute, commented “One of the unique features of the CPF is a 20+ member Editorial Review Board, which reviews content for applicability, gaps, and legal issues. Review by the Editorial Board is not considered the same as legal advice but is primarily to assure that content produced for the CPF meets high professional standards. It is our commitment to provide the deepest and most practical insight possible about compliance topics.”
The iA Institute is the publisher of insideARM.com, and the host of industry events such as the Larger Market Participant Summit and the Creditor-Collector Workshop. The organization also manages the Consumer Relations Consortium, a group of more than 20 larger market participants that engages with consumer advocates and regulators in order to improve interactions between consumers, creditors and debt collectors.
The launch of this new membership organization is the latest in a series of moves by The iA Institute to provide the ARM industry with meaningful compliance resources. Last week, the company announced the appointment of ARM veteran Tim Bauer as President, and in December industry veteran Terri Haley was announced as Director of Compliance.
