Collection Bureau Services, Inc. (CBS) and the Department of Labor and Industry, Employment Relations Division, Uninsured Employers’ Fund (UEF) today announced the signing of a seven year contract for collection of amounts due to the State of Montana.  The State of Montana issued a request for proposal (RFP) in October of 2007.  Ten agencies from across the country responded.  CBS was the only Montana agency that applied.  CBS had the highest score of all agencies, and was awarded the State contract after a rigorous review.  UEF is taking advantage of that contract.

Jeffrey J. Koch, Vice-president of CBS, stated: “We are extremely excited to work with the Uninsured Employers’ Fund.  We have worked with them in the past and understand the need to apply a consistent, assertive collection effort on behalf of Montana taxpayers.  While most Montana businesses properly provide workers’ compensation coverage for their employees, those who do not face sanctions.  Our job is to collect those funds, helping keep workers’ compensation costs down for Montana businesses.  CBS has a great deal of experience with government accounts, and already collects for a number of state, county, city and municipal entities.  The UEF contract gives Montana another avenue to effect collection.  We look forward to the opportunity to assist UEF and the taxpayers of Montana!”

Cathy Brown, spokesperson for the Uninsured Employers’ Fund stated, “We have worked with Collection Bureau Services Inc. in the past and are looking forward to doing business with them again.  They are very familiar with UEF processes and have worked with our customers in a professional manner. Over the years, CBS has done an excellent job collecting UEF debts in a timely manner.”
