Collection Bureau Services Wins Contract from State of Montana

Collection Bureau Services, Inc. (CBS) and the Department of Labor and Industry, Employment Relations Division, Wage and Hour Unit (W&H) today announced the signing of a seven year contract for collection of wages due to Montana citizens. 

The State of Montana issued a request for proposal (RFP) in October of 2007.  Ten agencies from across the country responded.  CBS was the only Montana agency that applied.  CBS had the highest score of all agencies, and was awarded the State contract after a rigorous review.  W&H is taking advantage of that contract.

Jeffrey J. Koch, Vice-president of CBS, said, “We are extremely excited to work with the Wage and Hour Unit.  We have worked with them in the past and understand the need to apply a consistent, assertive collection effort on behalf of Montana employees who have provided their labor as agreed with their employers, only to be left without compensation.  CBS has a great deal of experience with government accounts, and already collects for a number of state, county, city and municipal entities.  This W&H contract gives all employees who have been wrongfully denied just compensation another avenue to effect collection of their wages.  We look forward to the opportunity to assist W&H and the employees of Montana!”

Amy Smith, spokesperson for W&H stated, “We are equally excited to be utilizing Collection Bureau Services again and anticipating great results. To date there are roughly 250 Employers who have not paid wages owed to their employees; that adds up to approximately $1.4 million.”
