MultiCare Health System Chief Financial Officer Vincent Schmitz has been named Chief Financial Officer of the Year in the category of Large, Non-Profit organization by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Vince Schmitz joined MultiCare Health System in June 2001.
In August 2006, MultiCare concluded an affiliation with Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Schmitz was instrumental in developing the financial strategy, gaining regulatory approval, and helping to negotiate the final agreement for the affiliation.
Schmitz has also coordinated further development for the entire health system. He championed numerous operational improvement initiatives in 2006 including labor productivity, supply chain and process improvement activities, which resulted in cost savings and increased efficiencies.
In his 35 years of experience in the health care industry, Mr. Schmitz has also served as President & Chief Executive Officer of CHW Shared Business Services, Senior Vice President at Catholic Healthcare West in San Francisco, regional Chief Financial Officer of Mercy Healthcare Sacramento, and Chief Financial Officer of Mercy Healthcare Bakersfield.
Schmitz is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society for Business. His professional affiliations include Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), where he served as president of the northern California chapter, and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), with Diplomate status.
