I.C. System announced Wednesday that it has gained official certification as a Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) by C.E.R.T., Central Certification Program in St. Paul, MN.
“We’re excited to be able to officially proclaim what in many ways has been evident since the inception of our company in 1938 – that we are indeed a women-owned business.” said Barb Erickson, I.C. System’s Chairman and CEO. “We know how important this type of designation can be to some of our clients.”
C.E.R.T. is a collaborative certification organization made up of four jurisdictions; the City of Minneapolis, the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County and Hennepin County. The joint agency acts as a unified clearinghouse for certification and assistance for Women-owned, Minority-owned and Small Business ventures across the 14-county area of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin that includes the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The C.E.R.T. certification process determines if the business is at least fifty-one percent owned by one or more women, and has its management and daily business operations controlled by one or more women who own it.
“My grandmother was at the helm of I.C. System for over 30 years and it is partly through her dogged determination and clear vision that we are still thriving today – seven decades later. We are proud to be recognized as a women-owned business,” said John Erickson, President of I.C. System.
I.C. System, a privately owned company founded in 1938, provides accounts receivable management services for 20,000 clients within many industries, including healthcare, financial services, retail, utility, and communications. Headquartered in St. Paul, I.C. System has offices in Iowa, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
