Conifer Health Solutions, a leader in business process solutions for healthcare providers, announced the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) has presented two of its Operations leaders with the 2011 Doris E. Gleason Publication Award.
Gregory J. Rassier, vice president of Operations, and Romina C. White, senior director of Patient Access at Conifer, received the award as authors of the article, “Maximizing Yield: How Effective Patient Access Management Can Deliver Bottom-Line Benefits and a Better Patient Experience,” which was published in the November issue of NAHAM’s Access Management Journal.
The award was presented Thursday at the NAHAM 37th Annual Educational Conference & Exposition in San Antonio, Texas. The NAHAM Publications and Communications Committee reviewed and rated all article submissions from 2010 and the article written by Rassier and White came out on top. The article addressed how Conifer measures yield in the revenue cycle to help hospitals and healthcare systems improve their financial performance. It also described specific patient access operational improvements hospitals can make to dramatically enhance the patient experience and improve their bottom line.
The Doris E. Gleason Publication Award was established to encourage NAHAM members to gain professional visibility and recognition of written contributions to the patient access services field. For earning the award, Rassier and White were each given a certificate of achievement. They were also offered a $250 stipend, which they asked NAHAM to donate to the Tenet Care Fund to help Tenet Healthcare and Conifer Health Solutions employees who face unexpected financial hardships.
