Paul E. Van Dellen, 81, former CEO of Collection Technology Inc. and founder of Van Ru Credit Corporation died December 7, 2009 at his home in Glendale, California after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Mr. Van Dellen was actively involved with running a collection agency from 1953 when he started Van Ru Credit Corporation in Chicago, Illinois until 2008 when he retired as CEO of Collection Technology Inc.
Paul was a major supporter of the Northwest Community YMCA in Des Plaines, Illinois and Glendale Family YMCA in Glendale, California. He had many interests including semi-pro football team ownership and world cruise traveling.
Paul E. Van Dellen is survived by his daughter Paula Eastman, three sons, Scott, Dale, and Chris Van Dellen, and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which contributed a great deal to the equipment that increased his comfort and a fine UCLA doctor who diagnosed his illness.
