We’ve all heard the saying that you have to spend money to make money. The good news for government collection offices is that the adage is not always true. The Government Revenue Collections Association (GRCA) invites those working in government debt collection to join us for an informative, online training session on “benefits funding.”
As governments struggle to cover the absolute necessities, they will need to look towards other, creative financing approaches to fund much needed revenue collection projects. A number of governments have had significant success with “benefits funding,” a solution where the vendor provides the up-front investment, and is paid only out of the increase in revenue, decrease in cost, or both. Under this approach, if the vendor does not provide those increases, the government is not required to make any payment, ensuring that the government only has to make payments out of increases in revenues or actual savings.
Our upcoming session will introduce this progressive approach. We will also look at real-world case studies and explore the successes achieved by governments already using this alternative funding method.
GRCA has collaborated with CGI, a leading provider of information technology and business process services, to bring this can’t miss training session to government collectors on March 20, 2012 at 1:00 pm EST. Participants may reserve their space by registering online at http://www.govcollect.org/events/webinars.
