Oxford Management Services (OMS) today announced it will receive $417,500 in funding from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through Governor Edward G. Rendell’s Action Team initiative. Funding made available to OMS will include a grant, training funds, and tax credits, and was awarded based on the company’s recent commitment to create up to 150 jobs in Scranton, Pa.
The Governor announced the Commonwealth’s funding commitment to OMS along with four other firms during a press conference held last week in Scranton. This announcement comes on the heels of news reports in August that OMS had relocated and expanded its Scranton call center operations earlier in the third quarter.
The new OMS location in downtown Scranton will allow the company to meet its 3-year employment growth projections. OMS plans to utilize this generous financial incentive package for physical and technical enhancements and for training and development.
At the press conference, the Governor noted, “Our investment in this diverse group of companies will create hundreds of exciting new opportunities for residents in Lackawanna and surrounding counties. The job-training funding we are providing to each of these companies will also ensure they are able to build the skilled workforce that, in turn, will reinvest in the local economy.”
While accepting this award on behalf of OMS, Executive Vice President Charles Harris stated, “OMS has experienced more than 600% employment growth in Lackawanna County over the past 5 years and this new expansion will create additional career opportunities for our employees and will help to provide new and innovative solutions that will benefit all of our partners.”
